Xartune will be included in the new world, but it will undergo some descriptive changes. All that we know at the moment, is that it will still be a woodland area. We will attempt to capture as much of its existing essence as possible, when it comes time to redesign it.

Concept
Xartune is a continent barely connected to the Tonori Kingdom. Lush holly and elder trees surround the area, and green grass encircle the continent. trails of dust curve their way through the woodland, where dark and terrible secrets await. Monsters lurk around every tree, waiting, hunting. The sky is nearly blocked out by the leaves and branches of the trees. Mountains climb toward the skies, and plains line the shores. Shimris, a kingdom, hides itself behind the trees. Hunters seek food. Bamboo houses jut from the ground, small and cozy. This continent is a tranquil place indeed.
Development Plan
Here the long term development plan for the region.
What already has been done
Phase 1: Woodland Tileset + Test Map
The woodland tileset and the first woodland map have been released with version 0.0.18 of the mana world.
Phase 2: Connection to existing maps
The teleport npc solution used in phase one was a quite ugly and provisoric method. So we created a transmission tileset and made two maps that connect the two continents as a landbridge as described on the World geography page.
What is currently being done
Phase 3: Woodland Village
The first and yet unnamed village is the current big project. The outdoor graphics are finished, although there is still room left for some more ideas. The tileset and first version of the map can already be found on the svn repository. What is still missing are the indoor graphics and maps. The indoor tiles are about half finished.
Plans for the future
Phase 4: Shimris and Macabre
Shimris, the capital of Xartune, and Macabre, a port town, should be much richer and well developed than the first village. So new tilesets will be required. A candidate for a starting point is the concrete walls tileset by Irukard. The two towns should be released with the maps that connect them to the existing maps.
Phase 5: Mountain Region
The Mountain Region will require some new tiles and the Action layers concept. I would not suggest to start with mapping this area before we got this new technical ability.
Phase 6: Dungeons and special places
After phase 5 is completed there will still be a lot empty maps left. Those could be used for a lot of special locations like temple ruins, new towns or other special places that might or might not have a relation to quests or other game features. Although some parts of this phase might already be done before phase 5 or even phase 4 we should take some time and collect ideas before we waste all the empty space.
