During Christmas 2020, Jack Frost had cursed Santa's Reinboos, converting them into Grinchboos.
However, they could be purified by throwing an Snowball with a Candy-Caned Anti-Grinch-Rifle 2020 at them.
At three times during the day - 18:00, 00:00 and 06:00 UTC - there would be a "swarm" of them, which would last no more than 30 minutes, where it would be really easy to hunt them.
During the whole event, there was a scoreboard with the top 15 in grinchboo purification.
Trivia
Snowballs ended up more scarse than originally intended, and in the end, the number of snowballs one could find was the limiting factor, instead of the grinchboos respawn time.
For the event, Santa would speak lines taken out from prior Christmas events, even starting with the original Event:Christmas 2009 opening message and then reminding that it was 2020 already.
Santa used the same location from 2009 - Nivalis Central Square - instead of his room on the Christmas Inn.
The grinchboos had the same status as a maggot and the "rifle" had the same status as the slingshot, leading to mages to have difficulty hunting them during the earlier moments of the event. However, the most annoying exploits found which demanded immediate fixes were also in the magic system.
