Edit summary

Hi Alexander! Thank you for updating some pages and good luck with your quite interesting guild :)
There is just one little thing I'm asking you for: please mention what you changed in the "Summary: _______" text box right above the "Save page", "Show preview" and "Show changes" buttons. Thanks!

The spoiler button

Ty Wushin for putting this in the wiki and ty Alex for your tutorial about it.
But there is a point important for me.
You could add in your tutorial that we cant see the spoiler button in the preview.
To see the button you must apply and save the page =/
Is it possible to put another color for the text in the spoiler? or another color for the background (i find it just ugly =D) see The Lost Hitchhiker or Fr:The Lost Hitchhiker
Finally the expand/hide worked very well but i didnt knew about this.--Altus Institute (talk) 15:33, 17 February 2015 (UTC)

I did try figuring out how the expand-collapse thing works in Magic but I failed...(XD) So Wushin and I made a spoiler function on wiki but sadly the spoiler can't be previewed. HOWEVER, you can know if it works by checking the text. If the text shows the "showing message", it means the button works. The spoiler works prefectly in The Lost Hitchhiker. (p.s. There's JavaScript function on wiki soon) --Alexanderlime (talk) 15:42, 17 February 2015 (UTC)

Edit summary

Heya :) you might want to check "View history" of your latest edits, e.g. Sq:Walkthrough.
You'll notice that the edit summary message "same" or "same as above" will not give any hint about what was changed or mislead to think it's the same change as the last one on that page.
This only looks reasonable in the Recent Changes ;-)

Oh.. is there any way to change the summaries? --Alexanderlime (talk) 13:30, 4 March 2015 (UTC)

Nope, but it's okay, now you know :D

Metakey and Metadesc templates translations

I think you missed this one ;).
Just to let you know about that topic. I wanted to wait for an answer before making the changes you've done (no need to redo them, let's leave it like this for now).

Oops I missed that post, let's wait for an answer. If there's a solution, we can make a #REDIRECT on the multi-language templates and switch them to the original one one by one :)

Yeah, exactly, sounds like a plan :)
Btw thanks for creating the Template:I18n/doc‎, I will check it later and add it to the template.

a project

Hi
i have a project for the quest page, but idk if we can do it or not. letting the general quest overview like this but moving the others boards in different page coz the page is soooo long.
Wanted to use the <template: button> to put in the quests page to have to button to up or down, but seems the wiki doesnt allow them.
So now i would do a tabs header, to put link to the others board quest (that will be nicer)
here the link to have an idea about what im talking about http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Tutorial/TabsHeader
do you know if tmw wiki can allow it?
I ask you coz i dont want to create things to after delete them coz they dont work.

Like that in the tabs we will have :
tab2 Low Level Quests (1-20)
tab3 Medium Level Quests (21-50)
tab4 High Level Quests (51-99)
and more tabs like monsters page or items page or whatever Cassy want in

why this? to allow the seeker to navigate fast without looking for where is the page or do i must read all of this to find my link or else, its for that i added the footer for the skill. To make links between all the same page without looking for where was the previous page (so boring..)
Tell me if you can help me on this or not (ofc you can say no)

I can try :) It's a nice feature! --Alexanderlime (talk) 14:54, 9 March 2015 (UTC)

Just a little note: We shouldn't use different pages for each quest level range, but I really love the idea of using tabs :)
I agree with Altus that the quest page is too long right now.
Cassy (talk) 14:57, 9 March 2015 (UTC)

But what use for the tabs?
Can we put the others boards quest under a spoiler button in this case?
here several example to use the spoiler button :Ayasha's Hide and Seek Travelers
btw
its the same for the footer, will be better to add all language in one template, and use this template for all the langage page.
i will try to do it for the {{Magic shortcuts}} instead having {{.Fr:Magic shortcuts}}
Altus Institute (talk) 15:11, 9 March 2015 (UTC)

Reply

Tried but it looks HORRIBLE... Making a shortcuts bar would be better XD
Wikipedia uses Lua code which is too hard for me. Also, our wiki doesn't support modules and the Scribunto extension.
Remus you can try. Although the magic shortcuts' code seems complicated, you can simply add a #switch on each phrase.

Help:Template#Creating_a_template

Hi Alex, can you do my a little favour?
I see you know quite a lot about templates and I need someone to check Help:Template#Creating_a_template (including "Documentation") which I just created.
I'm not 100% fit with templates so it would be nice if you could see if there is something wrong or missing. Thanks! :)

Chat extension

I made a PR on github adding a chat extension. It'd create a special page which contained a chatbox. Please check the PR here :D

Update: Categories and templates

Just giving you a little update about the changes I've done today so you don't have to click through the huge backlog.

This means we don't have to add the categories at the end of the page anymore when they use those templates.
This also means that douzands of pages got automatically added to the correct category.
Note that I also changed the skills template so they have the same style and put them from the bottom to the top of all pages.
Oh and all skills pages, including translations, should have the correct templates and therefore also categories now.
Also FYI the comments on some templates were put wrongly, see this pic (only lasts for 7 days).
Hope you enjoy those improvements ;)
I will post the same message at Altus's profile.
