System

When a players reach level 30, they will be able to acquire a Gamblers License. Once acquired, they may buy a Coin Bag for a small fee. If they refuse to buy one, they may not use the Machine games, such as Slots. When they have a Coin Bag, they can go to the counter and talk to the Clerk NPC to trade money for Casino Coins. When traded for, they appear as items. When they play the slots, the slot NPC will delete amount of their bet from their inventory.

Example: I bet 1 Coin, so the NPC deletes the 1 coin from my inventory. Then the NPC will choose 3 random numbers. If any 3 numbers match each other, the player wins.

When players win, they receive double the amount of the bet. Also, if a selected number is acquired from the slots, the player may get a special prize. For example, if the player got 7,7,7 and 777 was the special prize choice, the player would instead receive a special coin to redeem for a prize at the Clerk Counter.

Attributes

Luck: This attribute should have an active role in gambling.

Observations

Good Points: This would effectively circulate the economy.

  1. Players would continually diminish the gold supply for the off chance that they would receive an exclusive special item.
  2. Players would trade items/money for Casino Coins from the outside.
  3. Players would use their money to buy Casino Coins, providing players something to look forward to at lower levels.

Bad Points:

  1. Players may use the Casino Coins to their advantage by buying from NPCs then selling them for higher prices outside the casino.
  2. Players would waste excess amounts of time by gambling endlessly.

Discussion

I'm not sure of how well the "Good Points" and "Bad Points" are articulated. I will think about this later. I added a section for Luck. --Ogre 21:41, 19 October 2007 (CEST)
