Gispaa is a volcanic plain northwest of the Tonori desert. Deep under the plain in a labyrinth of volcanic tunnels lies the crystal of fire. The reason for the vulcanic activities in the region are the god of fires attempts to break free from its prison that cause the rocks around it to melt to magma. Directly above the crystal, in the center of the region, lies the huge volcano Mons Prometheus.

Ecology

The harsh conditions make any life in form of plants impossible. The base of the foodchain are Mana Bugs that feed on the fire mana energy emitted from the lava rivers and lakes. All other animals are predators that either hunt the Mana Bugs or each other.

A high resistance against heat is necessary to survive in this region. Thus most creatures native to this area are almost invulnerable to fire magic and other heat-based damage.

Population and Culture

The inhabitants of Gispaa are the Fire people of the Ifrit race. They developed a sense for places in the plains with a higher geological stability than others that are rarely swept by lava streams or destroyed by earthquakes. This allows them to find places in which permanent villages can be build. But because of the constant changing landscape these villages still rarely last longer than a few decades. The Ifrit can sense when a village will soon become the victim of the volcanic activity and have usually abandoned it and build a new one in a safer location long before the old one is destroyed. Their buildings are made of rocks melted together by fire magic. Their main food source are the animals inhabiting the area. The Ifrit cuisine is usually not liked a lot by outsiders because the Ifrit prefer their meat "black from the outside, red from the inside". This state is usually archieved by dipping the meat into a lava lake with long tongs. Their main export goods are crystals that store a lot of fire mana energy and are mined from solified lava and metal goods that are forged in the heat of the volcanos.
