| Make sure you are using ManaPlus and not the deprecated Mana. If you do not know what client you are using, press F1 while in game to bring up the help window. If you see "ManaPlus version" on the first line you are on ManaPlus. If not, you are on Mana. You can download the latest version of ManaPlus here: http://manaplus.org/

| Press F9 while in game to bring up the Setup window. Go to the Video tab. Under the list of screen resolutions on the left you should see OpenGL. Click on OpenGL and choose Software. Click Apply and restart ManaPlus.

| === Disable Ambiant FX ===

| Press F9 while in game to bring up the Setup window. Go to the Visual tab. Under the "Effects" section locate the option named "Ambiant FX" and turn it off. Click Apply.

| Press F9 while in game to bring up the Setup window. Go to the Visual tab. Under the "Effects" section locate the option named "Particle detail" and move the slider to "low". Now locate the option named "Particle physics" (which should be right under "Particle detail") and set it to "best performance". Click Apply.

| Press F9 while in game to bring up the Setup window. Go to the Performance tab. Check all options under "Better performance". Uncheck all options under "Better quality". Click Apply and restart ManaPlus.

| Press F9 while in game to bring up the Setup window. Go to the Audio tab. Uncheck the option named "Enable Audio". Click Apply and restart ManaPlus.
