Murray is "a warrior of a thousand wars", and he's got the scars to prove it. He used to be muscular and fit, but though he's still strong as an ox, he's gotten a bit, ehh, bulky. Nonetheless, he could still best most warriors in single combat. His expertise in weapons isn't all that intricate, but his raw strength and ferocity are what carry him through fights. He takes particular pride in his ability to still catch wild boars bare-handed...

He sometimes agrees to teach a budding adventurer how to fight monsters and survive in the wilds, but usually he can be found at the end of an old fishing rod (his "lucky fish-pole") down by the quaint forest river, or telling stories over a pint of ale to anyone who's interested. He knows a lot about the world (and invents what he doesn't know), so he is (or at least seems) knowledgeable, and many newcomers seek him out to hear a tall tale or a couple.
