[[User:Dabe|Dabe]] 03:07, 14 March 2007 (CET):I never really agreed to the "Null" thing, because I don't think it's necessary.  If you want a system where you're trying to change your elemental pattern, to somehow include all four elements.. why not just do that without mentioning this null thing?  I just don't feel that it should be included as an element, since it doesn't appear to function as one. I think it would be cooler if you just couldn't combine all four elements; not as a race, item, spell, etc..  if you really think about it, there is no reason to need to do so, since we can come up with reasonably excusable combinations of 2 and 3 elements, for just about any product or material.

*I propose that if something like this is available at all, that it should work more like a status effect, through some sort of item, spell, skill, etc.. since it seems to be some manner of attempting to quantify your level of .."nothingness" (..?) it doesn't seem to make sense that you should be creating it by combining everything.

**Why don't we try figuring out how the score & skill systems will work, before trying to lay this stuff out so definitely.

Order of the elements

May I suggest a slightly different order of the primary elements in the element circle?

  • Fire is extinguished by Water
  • Water is absorbed by Earth
  • Earth is eroded by Air
  • Air is consumed by Fire

For the damage factors I would suggest:

  • 200% damage on the element it destroys
  • 75% damage on itself
  • 50% damage on the element it is destroyed by

The same idea, without rearranging the elements

Elementalreactions.png I just would like to keep the elements in their current orientation to one another, because it corresponds to the general locations of the Crystals on the world map.

I think depicting the elements in a circle makes it easier for someone to understand how the system works. But I don't think that the geography has to represent this easy deciption intended for learning the game mechanics, too. Neither must the easiest possible explanation of the element system represent the geographical locations of the elements. Although when you want to show a map of the locations of the crystals and their relations to one another: how about depicting it as an infinity sign? http://upload.wikimedia.org/math/d/2/4/d245777abca64ece2d5d7ca0d19fddb6.png --Crush 15:48, 24 February 2008 (CET)

It basically is an infinity symbol

..but I started making this to replace it. At first, I planned to apply the same wording to this image, but I think it looks better, as is. The explanation can remain in a caption or somehow otherwise on the page. -Dabe 08:55, 1 March 2008 (CET)
