"Santa Claus" is a Sage of Kaizei. Masters of astral magic, teleportation and shrinking distance travel is the specialty these ancient spell casters hold. Over the centuries, the sages have decreased in number, yet they continue their work to not only provide transportation throughout and beyond Kaizei, but also to give gifts to all the children of mana during the winter holiday season. The headquarters for the Sages is Nivalis, though Porthos hosts the portal house which allows travel throughout Kaizei.

The Sages of Kaizei are also in charge of the banking system of Kaizei, ensuring honest trade and transportation of wealth throughout the realm with a variety of powers. The Order of Ice are more into combat magic and are more aggressively militant than the Sages of Kaizei. The Order of Ice also hosts its power from Avalon as opposed to Nivalis, which has been taken over by Argaesian settlers.
