Remember that Shields can only be equipped with a one-handed Weapon.
Uses
Even though it's a beginner's shield the defense boost of 7 is very handy. But don't spend money to buy it from a Shop NPC because it's available in a quest and the even better Wooden Shield is early available in the game too.
