Choosing a Client for The Mana World
The Mana World supports several game clients. Here's a quick overview to help you pick the right one:
- Mana — The original lightweight client, revived in 2025 (version 0.7+). A great starting point if you want something simpler, classic feel, or are interested in contributing to development.
- Manaverse — Advanced modern client (fork of ManaPlus). Offers ongoing improvements, best compatibility, and extra features for experienced players.
- ManaPlus — The former default client (2014–2021). Still fully playable but no longer actively maintained for TMW-specific updates.
- ManaLauncher — Beta launcher required only for certain cross-server quests, events, or functions. Use it alongside one of the above if needed.
Start with Mana for the best experience.
Mana
The Mana client is the original lightweight client for The Mana World. It was unmaintained from 2014 to 2024 but was revived with the Mana 0.7 release in 2025 and is now fully usable again!
Report bugs, request features, or contribute at the Mana bug tracker. Compiling from source is straightforward — see the project instructions.
Manaverse
Manaverse is the official game client for The Mana World. It offers the best support, features, and ongoing development.
Portable builds:
Downloads for macOS, Android, other platforms, and the full source code are available on the Manaverse website.
You can register a new account directly inside the client.
Note: If you run into registration issues or trouble launching Manaverse, please contact support. We do not provide support for ManaPlus.
Server address (if the list is empty)
On Windows, the server list sometimes appears empty. Manually add the server:
- Name: The Mana World
- Hostname: server.themanaworld.org
- Port: 6901 (TCP)

ManaPlus
ManaPlus was the default client from 2014 to 2021 (replacing the original Mana client), when it was superseded by Manaverse.
The Mana World remains fully playable with ManaPlus.
ManaLauncher
ManaLauncher is a beta launcher for The Mana World. It's optional but required for certain inter-server quests, events, or cross-server features.
You must set a "home world" (have an account on at least one participating server).
